Dr. Heidar Arjomand

Dr. Heidar Arjomand serves as a Consultant in Interventional, Endovascular, and Structural Cardiology at the American Hospital Dubai, having come on board in April 2021. With a decade and a half of expertise in complex cardiovascular procedures from his tenure in the USA, he now leads the Cardiovascular Quality division and the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at the American Hospital. Additionally, he is a joint chair of the American Hospital Academic Institute. Dr. Arjomand holds American Board certifications in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Endovascular Medicine. A graduate with highest honors from the University of Pecs Medical School, he was also named Chief Medical Resident during his residency in Pennsylvania, USA. Following this, he received his fellowship training in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology/Endovascular Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, and further honed his skills with a dedicated year in Structural Heart Disease Interventions at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. A select interventional cardiologist trained specifically in procedures like TAVR, TMVR, and LAAC using the Watchman Device, Dr. Arjomand also imparts his knowledge to medical students, residents, and fellows. He is an Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, USA, and has contributed to numerous scholarly articles and textbook chapters in his field. His clinical prowess extends to managing a variety of cardiovascular disorders, leading advanced coronary interventions, and conducting pivotal endovascular therapies such as TAVI, TMVR, ASD and PFO closures, and repairs for aortic aneurysms among others.
