Dr. Firas Raouf Alani

Professor Dr. Firas R. Alani, MD, is a consultant physician at the American Hospital Dubai since September 2019, with 12 years of cardiology experience from the USA. He serves as the Chief Medical Director of the Heart and Vascular Center and Chairman of the American Hospital Academic Institution (AHAI).

Dr. Alani earned his medical degree from Al Mustansiryiah University, Baghdad, in 1993 and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Monmouth Medical Center, Cornell University, New Jersey, USA. He received the "Golden Stethoscope" award for teaching at Drexel University College of Medicine, where he also conducted cardiovascular research.

He completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Endovascular Therapy at Drexel University, serving as Chief Fellow. Recently, he completed a six-month Fellowship in Advanced Structural Heart Disease at Henry Ford Hospital.

Dr. Alani holds American Board Certifications in six disciplines, including Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. He is also certified as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).

An active educator, he has been a faculty member at Central Michigan University (CMU) College of Medicine since 2014, achieving full Professorship in April 2019. He has published over 40 articles and served as Principal Investigator in more than 20 clinical trials.
